I then came across a post online that said to uninstall and then go in and manually delete every Sims 3 or EA file on my computer. I un-installed and re-installed and used your update and tried compatibility mode and every combination of these possible but it simply would not work. When I clicked on the icon I would get the “thinking” circle for a few seconds and then nothing. I had Sims 3 on my Windows 8 64-bit PC months ago, but when I went to play recently I found that it would no longer work. Hi Ramoonus, I just wanted to post a solution here that worked for me.
